Specific Guidelines and
Criteria for Courses Submitted in
THEATRE AND
DANCE
Specific guidelines and
criteria for courses in Theatre are as
follows:
- Develop an understanding of the
various components of theatre production, including directing, acting, scene
design, lighting design, costume design, choreography, etc.;
- Develop a general understanding
of historical styles, genres, and forms integral to theatre;
- Develop an understanding of
theatre etiquette, and the skills to analyze and critique a live
performance;
- Develop an understanding of
theatre as a reflection of culture and society;
- Develop an understanding of the
contributions of minorities to theatre;
- Develop an understanding of
dramatic structure and read at least one play;
- Provide opportunities for
participation in theatre performance, production, or promotion.
Specific guidelines and
criteria for courses in Dance are:
- Develop an understanding of the
various components of Dance, including choreography, set and lighting design,
dance techniques, etc.;
- Develop an understanding of
historical styles, genres, and forms integral to dance;
- Develop an understanding of
theatre etiquette and develop the skills to analyze and critique dance
performance-
- Develop an understanding of
dance as a reflection of culture and society;
- Develop an understanding of the
contributions of minorities to the art of dance;
- Provide opportunities for
participation in dance performance, production, or promotion.
