PSYCHOLOGY (120 Semester
Hours)
AREA V
The following guidelines and restrictions apply:
- No more than 19 hours may transfer in Area V for this
120-degree hour program. A total of 9 hours were specified by the AGSC as
required for this major (3 hrs general psychology and 6 hrs free electives).
The remaining 10 hours should be taken from courses recommended in Areas I - IV
but which were not taken. For example, Psychology majors coming to ABC
University need:
- A year's sequence in a foreign language: FRN 101-102,
GRN 101-102, SPN 101-102, FRN 201-202, GRN 201-202, or SPN 201-202.
- A course in oral communication: SPH 107.
- Any remaining hours should be selected from the disciplines
covered in Areas I - IV.
- Prohibitions on elective transfer hours:
- Developmental, remedial, or technical courses will not
transfer.
- A maximum of one computer course may transfer: CIS 146
is preferred.
- A maximum of four sem. hrs. in physical education may
transfer.
- No transfer credit will be awarded for math courses
below the state-approved core level of MATH 110 or MATH 112.

suggestions for these areas.
Other University
Requirments/Policies
Effective Fall
2002, students must maintain an ABC
University of GPA of 2.2 in order to take any courses in the College of Arts
and Science. Currently, students must maintain an ABC University GPA of 2.0 to
take courses upper division courses in the College of Arts and Science. In
Management Information Systems, students must maintain an ABC University GPA of
2.2.
